Infrared Manual Focus Lens Description:

Infrared Lens - Optical Correction:
Except for special circumstances, in general, a single spherical lens cannot correct chromatic aberration, a positive lens produces negative chromatic aberration, and a negative lens produces positive chromatic aberration. In order to reduce the chromatic aberration, the combination of glass with different refractive index and different chromatic aberration can eliminate the chromatic aberration.
A double lens group or a doublet lens group composed of positive and negative lenses of appropriate shape is a simple structure that may achromatize. The method of reducing dispersion of this doublet lens group is a commonly used optical infrared correction method.
After optical correction, the distance between the focal planes is brought closer (but not eliminated) due to reduced dispersion and reduced refraction separation of infrared and visible light. For lenses with a short focal length, after optical correction, the focal plane deviation between infrared and visible light is small, and the impact on image clarity is small. But as the focal length gets longer, the dispersion will be gradually enlarged, and the focal plane deviation between infrared light and visible light will be greater, and optical correction cannot make both images clear at the same time.
