Middle Wave Infrared Lens Description:
Focal Length 100mm F2.3 Infrared Germanium Lens For 1024x768-24um Detector.
1.5-5um Wavelength Middle Wave Infrared Lens Apply to Infrared Sights, Thermal Imager, Monitor Camera. Drone Monitor, Thermal Image Monitoring and Observation Equipment, etc.
Light is a kind of electromagnetic wave, 0.38-0.76um is the visible spectrum region, 0.76-1000um is the infrared spectrum region; and the part of 0.76-3.0um is called reflected infrared light, and the part of 3.0-18um is called emitted infrared light.
Short-wave infrared light SWIR is located in the non-visible light spectrum between near infrared (NIR) and long-wave infrared (IR), between about 0.9-1.7um, and acts like a photon in the visible range; it behaves more like visible light than Thermal energy in the infrared spectrum.
Although SWIR wavelengths are shorter, photons in this range are less susceptible to Rayleigh scattering caused by smaller diameter particles because of their relatively longer wavelengths, which means that SWIR light can see through smoke, fog or haze.
