Thermal imagers using long-wave infrared technology are able to capture images of objects that cannot be seen with devices that rely on visible light. Unlike other imaging devices, long-wave infrared cameras do not emit radiation themselves, but rather capture the radiation emitted by the object being observed. This non-invasive and non-destructive feature makes long wave infrared cameras highly versatile and suitable for a variety of applications.
While long-wave infrared optics may not be the best choice for accurate temperature measurements, they do an excellent job of providing high-quality images. They are particularly suitable for surveillance, industrial quality control and medical diagnostics. Our long-wave infrared lenses offer superior performance in the spectral range of 3000 to 5000 nm, delivering results near the diffraction limit. These lenses can be used in spectroscopy with tunable QCL lasers and are also compatible with thermal imaging.
